If there is ever a better time to bring joy, laughter, and your community together, it has to be this time of year. It’s that time of year where guards are down, and moods are jolly. If your community does celebrate the holidays, below, I’ve provided a couple of ways our Boards or Committees have brought residents closer.

  1. Holiday Decoration Contest – One of our communities has a contest amongst its owners for the best-decorated home. Each resident within the community will receive a token, and the house that ends up with the most tokens wins a small prize. This event gets residents out of their homes, and you’ll even find residents chatting with other neighbors.

  2.  Clubhouse Lighting Party – We have several communities that will host a lighting party to turn on the Christmas lights. During this lighting party, appetizers are served and music gently playing in the background while residents chat and get to know each other a bit more.

  3.  Toy Drive – Nothing brings more joy than helping others, especially kids. A toy drive can be created where residents can donate toys that are later donated to a local charity. Last year we had a community that donated over fifty toys to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.

I’d love to hear what other ways our readers have brought residents together?
