PEAK SEASON IS UPON US!

What a week this has been and will continue to be for so many. Hurricane Dorian has become the largest storm ever to hit the Atlantic Ocean. The storm had winds above 185+ mph, and at times it clocked wind gust above 220 mph. The damage the storm caused to the Bahamas, and its residents are heartbreaking, and our prayers go out to all the families.

As the storm slowly turns north, it looks as if it will not make landfall in South Florida however it's yet to be seen what the impact of the surge will be along the east coast of Florida and further North. While most of Dade/Broward County missed this storm, it’s a wake-up call for all because should have it made landfall this storm would have done some severe damage.  Note, this isn't the time to let your guard down because we are inching into the peak of hurricane season. As such, this is an excellent opportunity to go over the steps the board and management took to prepare. Was there anything that could have been done better, more efficiently, and or effectively.   Was the communication between the board, management, and its residents good enough? Did owners take all the necessary steps the board and management requested? Would you have been ready for a Category 5 storm?  Would you have had the money to cover the deductible if the storm hit? The hard questions need to be asked now so you can adjust the plans you have in place accordingly.
