Getting with the times…

What we are all experiencing over the past few weeks will change the way we see and do things moving forward.  If it wasn't for the technological advancements that we've had, can you imagine how much harder it would have been to do your groceries, pick up medication, or even see loved ones?

The residents we serve at times have been wary of using the technological advancements our organization provides because of fear of losing touch with residents or fear of use. However, without these advancements, it would be impossible to manage the properties we are managing under these circumstances.  A majority of our managers are managing their associations from their home and can answer phone calls, generate work orders, etc. as if they were still located at the property.  Further, over the past few weeks, we've made it our priority to educate our clients on the ease of paying association dues online. Because of these initiatives, we've seen a significant uptick of residents signing up for automatic payment. So much so that our entire portfolio has gone from forty percent on electronic payment to almost forty-six percent.

Those Board members who had a fear of using these technologies should be taking note of all these benefits and more importantly, should consider taking advantage of it moving forward.  Gone should be the days of residents dropping off checks at the office or even mailing checks, and gone should be the days of board meetings getting canceled for lack of board members in town.

I’m curious to hear from our readers… how many of you are planning to move your meetings to a virtual setting?
