FORECLOSURE CRISIS?

By Jan Bergemann

The Pandemic is awful – no doubt. Our economy is suffering, no questions asked. But it is a totally different economic crisis than the one we faced in 2007/2008. I am pretty confident that the economy is recovering quickly as soon as the serious health problem is over.

This is not a crisis caused by the economy and idiotic lending practices, it’s caused by a world-wide virus epidemy – an epidemy that will end if we all listen to the advice given to us daily by our health experts.

Social distancing is the name of the game and I have absolutely no understanding for people who ignore the warnings. Anybody who hasn’t gotten the message yet is either stupid or a total fool.

Getting back to the finances: Yes, some families will have financial difficulties, having problems keeping up with the bills in a timely manner. Breadwinners will lose their jobs – most likely only for a short while – and for some families income will be much lower.

The big question nobody can really answer – the answers we hear so far are ”guesses” – is: HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?

If we all do our part, use common sense and have a little compassion for the families who are not as lucky as others, we should successfully deal with the health crisis and the economic crisis.

associations. He moved to Florida in 1995 - hoping to retire. He moved into a HOA, where the developer cheated the homeowners and used the association dues for his own purposes. End of retirement!

CCFJ was born in the year 2000, when some owners met in Tallahassee - finding out that power is only in numbers. Bergemann was a member of Governor Jeb Bush's HOA Task force in 2003/2004.

The organization has two websites to inform interested Florida homeowners and condo owners:

Educational Website: http://www.ccfjfoundation.net/.

We think that only owners can really represent owners, since all service providers surely have a different interest! We are trying to create owner-friendly laws, but the best laws are useless without enforcement. And enforcement is totally lacking in Florida !
