LOTS OF COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION BILLS ARE FILED!

It will be a busy legislative session this year. Just look at all the owner-friendly community association bills are filed. I am amazed how many legislators were willing to sponsor bills that will definitely help all the folks living in Florida’s community associations.

It all started with a horrible tragedy: The collapse of the Champlain Towers South – a collapse that killed 98 people. Then came the MIAMI-DADE GRAND JURY REPORT published by SA Katherine Fernandez Rundle that was an eye-opener for all legislators: It’s time to protect the families living in Florida’s community associations to prevent another such tragedy.

And it really looks like the legislators listened – and filed a myriad of great bills. Just take a look at our HOA/CONDO REFORM BILL WEBSITE.

There isn’t one bill that \shouldn’t be supported by everybody – since this time it seems like common sense was the author of all these bills.

All owners – and all people living in community associations in Florida should contact all the legislators asking them to support these bills so they will end up on the desk of Governor Ron DeSantis for his signature. Now it’s time to stop complaining, it’s time to contact all legislators and do the work that should have been done years ago. We owners need to win the war, not just a few battles.

You will find all the necessary info on our REFORM BILL WEBSITE. I will keep you all informed when these bills are not the committee agendas so you can contact the committee members asking for their support of the bill.

associations. He moved to Florida in 1995 - hoping to retire. He moved into a HOA, where the developer cheated the homeowners and used the association dues for his own purposes. End of retirement!

CCFJ was born in the year 2000, when some owners met in Tallahassee - finding out that power is only in numbers. Bergemann was a member of Governor Jeb Bush's HOA Task force in 2003/2004.

The organization has two websites to inform interested Florida homeowners and condo owners:

We think that only owners can really represent owners, since all service providers surely have a different interest! We are trying to create owner-friendly laws, but the best laws are useless without enforcement. And enforcement is totally lacking in Florida !
