Do You Remember When?

Without a doubt the world has changed tremendously over the past 20 years. Do you remember when you wore a "pager" and had to stop at a payphone to return the call? Do you remember when only a few individuals had "cell phones" and they were larger than a lunch box? Do you remember when there were no attorney commercials on TV?

Having had the opportunity recently, to be at home during the weekday, I was shocked that every other commercial was advertising for legal services. Attorneys boasting that they could get you overtime pay, workers compensation pay and accident pay. One even boasted that, "We are the first to arrive on the scene, after the Ambulance", thus giving a whole new meaning to the term "Ambulance Chaser". With all due respect to attorneys, it seems that our highly litigious society finds that filing suit against each other is a way of life. Associations are not immune. Far too many times as an LCAM firm, we see that Homeowners file suit against the Association and Boards file against Homeowners. I don’t know about you, but I remember a time when people worked through their issues by having a face to face meetings and came to a resolution. There was no need to seek retaliation or involve attorneys.
