Nightmare on Foreclosure Street

It is not a secret that foreclosures are at an all time high or that Florida leads the nation in the number of foreclosures. Nor is it a secret that there have been numerous claims of foreclosures occurring in error or outside of required procedures.

  

Let's say, a unit is foreclosed on and the mortgage holder comes to the property and removes items from within the unit, changes the locks and goes about their merry way! The unit owner comes home to find all of their belongings removed and locks changed. As you can imagine, panic ensues. They reach out to the Property Manager who confirms that the unit was foreclosed on. To the utter dismay, the Homeowner realizes they have been a victim of a bank error because; THEY PAY THEIR MORTGAGE ON TIME AND HAVE NEVER BEEN DELINQUENT. Soon all parties realize that the bank has foreclosed on the wrong home costing this family everything.
