Follow the Golden Rule

I want to thank Eric for standing his ground with his poignant opinion of the Florida Association Industry! I could not agree more!

As a business owner, I get that we are in it to make a profit, but at what cost? As I’ve said many times, I am truly honored to be affiliated with both Jan Bergemann, CCFJ and Eric Glazer, Glazer and Associates. I believe they exemplify Condominium Concepts Managements philosophy of putting our clients first, and foremost by doing the right thing. If a management firm attorney or service provider accurately prices their services, then why the need to nickel and dime the clients?

Many Association and Boards just simply ignore or are oblivious to these additional fees which can be financially draining to an Association. Far too often we see service providers charging, unapproved upcharges, trip charges, delivery fees, astronomical document preparation fees. We see LCAM firms charging payroll processing fees, staffing fees additional meeting fees, project supervision fees and notice fees. And let’s not overlook the law firms who look for billable hours on frivolous issues.

This can only be changed if you, the Board Members, and you, the Homeowners, practice stringent due diligence in choosing a service provider. As I’ve said, many times, Google can be a great avenue for understanding what a company stands for and what their priorities are. If you make every client a priority, the money will come. So there is no need to milk them for everything you can get.

I would love to hear from you on any positive experience where your service providers have gone the extra mile and expected nothing in return.
