LET’S LOOK AT IT PRACTICALLY!

718.11 OFFICIAL RECORD- Requires some records be maintained from inception. Imagine 40+ years of boxed paperwork! Where would you store it? How would you preserve it? Once the Florida humidity finds its way into these boxes, its goodbye legible records, and hello mold!

718.112 NOTICES OF MEETING -This simply decreases the way people receive notices. No problem here.

718.111 REQUIREMENTS TO PLACE OFFICIAL RECORDS ON A WEBSITE – Hallelujah! Hopefully a way to ensure owners don’t have to go to extremes to view association records.

718.112 TERM LIMITS FOR BOARD MEMBERS- They missed the mark on this one. It should have been retroactive back 4 years, at least.

718.707 BULK ASSIGNEES – Did owners think they had any control over a bulk owner? Not!

718.112 ELECTRIC VEHICLES - Bravo! This piece of legislation shows there can be some forward thinking by law makers.

718.112 SERVICE PROVIDERS CONFLICTS OF INTEREST - This should have been left the way it was. The new changes simply make it easier to misuse the Board Member, Family and Vendor Relationships.

720.303 EMAIL –Am I the only one who sees that Boards are doing everything over email? This statute needs more guidance and regulation. Do you think Boards are discussing issues via email before a meeting without community knowledge or participation?

Just my thoughts!
