BEING POLITICALLY CORRECT HAS GONE TOO FAR!

I recently saw a post on Facebook which read, “I’m offended that you’re offended”. Frankly it seems no matter which way we turn in today’s society, we’re going to offend someone. Our 1st amendment right for freedom of speech has all but disappeared. The truth is, you have the freedom of speech as long as no one disagrees with you.

CAM’s should use caution when determining if a sign can be posted. One such mistake recently took place in Tampa, Florida where the declaration stated, “No signs may be posted without board approval”. The LCAM whose relative was running against the person whose sign was posted, sent the homeowner a violation notice. The CAMs reasoning stated, “It presents a conflict of interest, since your candidate is running against my relative.” Really?!

While the homeowner had not received permission from the board and was clearly in violation of the declaration, the CAM had no conflict or maybe common sense in sending the violation notice.

The issue was resolved, the CAM was replaced and the owner gained permission to post their sign for 30 days.
